I composed this waltz after a fun ceilidh hosted by our friends Raye and Alexa, regular patrons of our Thursday night gigs at Patty's Pub. This intrepid pair purchased a log home originally built in 1802 by John McPhee near Lanark, Ontario. They deconstructed it and rebuilt it by a beautiful lake in Quebec, not too far from our own cottage. As I drank my coffee by our little lake the next morning, this piece just came to me. I like to think of it as a gift from John McPhee et al.
